Free Me [Australian CD]
Emma Bunton's sophomore album is just an elegant blend of genres from the 60s British Pop sound of "Maybe" (a favorite of mine) to the Latin pop cover of "Crickets Sing For Anamaria", the James Bond-esque song of "Tomorrow" and the Motown inspired music of "I'll Be There". Overall this album was wonderful and proved that Emma Bunton is more than just Baby Spice.
Editorial Review :: Following her massive success in 2003 with her brilliant singles 'Free Me' & 'Maybe' & her 2004 smash 'I'll Be There' everyone's favorite former Spice Girl releases her highly anticipated album entitled 'Free Me'. Recorded throughout 2003 in the UK & Spain, 'Free Me' is a diverse, energetic album that oozes sophistication. A marked maturity of sound is featured on this record which Emma herself describes as having, "a real 60's influence". The album features collaborations from such esteemed hit makers as Cathy Dennis, Yak Bondie, Simon Ellis & Henry from Zero 7 & is Emma's most accomplished achievement to date. A great pop record from a great pop star. 12 tracks including all three of the smash hit singles mentioned above, along with a 16-page full color booklet with some great photos. 19 Recordings/Universal. 2004.

Life in Mono
I have been a major fan of the Spice Girls since 1998, and I have tried to find all of their solo albums. Emma Bunton's "Life in Mono" was not widely released in the U.S., so I ordered it used from Amazon UK. Emma's third album is a great addition to the Spice Girls solo albums, far better than most of Mel C's, I thought. While this album does not have the funky dance songs like "Free Me", it has some great soft, slow songs. This album made me feel like I was listening to another British great, Dido. My favorite song on this album is "Downtown", which was originally recorded in the 1960s by British pop star Petula Clark. Maybe this album will re-introduce it to a new generation? I would highly recommend "Life in Mono", even though it is very hard to find in the U.S.
Editorial Review :: Limited Edition UK-only pressing of the 2006 album from Emma Bunton (AKA Baby Spice) features three bonus tracks: 'Something Tells Me (Something's Gonna Happen', 'Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps' and Por Favour'. Life In Mono is Emma's most honest album to date, an intimate reflection of Emma's life and loves that reveal more than she was ever expecting. Musically it sounds like a rich pop album even at first listen, with rich orchestral backing, gorgeous harmonies and the sort of chorus' Burt Bacharach could be proud of. It moves from the stunningly tender 'All I Need To Know' to cheeky jazz of 'Undressing You' and the luscious Carpenters style of 'I'm Not Crying Over Yesterday's' . Above all it captures Emma's thoroughly modern take on elegant 60's Pop. Universal.

Maybe [UK CD]
I absloutley adore this song. This was the first song i had heard by Emma Bunton and I instantly fell in love with it. I lve both this song and the video for it as well. I also like the DJ Adam remix to this song but thge orginal mix is by far superior and it made me an instant fan of hers. Hopefully all of the other tracks from 'Free Me' will be this enjoyable.
Editorial Review :: 'Maybe' is the second single of 2003 year for Emma (Baby Spice) & is guaranteed to follow in the footsteps of her previous release 'Free Me'. It's a slinky & flirtatious track that has been coupled with an infectious bubbling chorus that only Emma can do justice to. As if that's not enough to get pop tastebuds tingling, the track gets a superb rework by the likes of Bini & Martini. You know it's going to be good! The title track is backed with 'Don't Tell Me You Love Me Anymore', 'Maybe' (Bini & Martini Club Mix & Video). Polydor.

Free Me [UK CD1] [ENHANCED]
Emma has produced a sexy single! I love how she put full force into this single because it is fabulous!
SONG: Lovely. However, compared to the remixes, I prefer the faster versions to the slow, drawn out version. It's a killer song, though.
REMIX: The Full Intentions Freed Up mix is very nice! I like Dr. Octavo's Seduction mix better, but this is great! I like the beginning where it just goes, "Free.... me..." and then has some a capella mix with "Let me lose to love you oh how I long to seduce you."
B-SIDE: "Who The Hell Are You" is a track off of her latest album of the same name as the single. It's a track with a lot of attitude and Emma pulls of the calm, cool, collected, but angry music styling.
VIDEO: How she longs to seduce us? Too late. I'm seduced. She comes out in a lingerie-esque garment at a house with luxuries and everything. It's pure fantasy.
Overall, great single, Emma. I just wanted to hear something newer than the b-side and remix which you can find on the album.
Editorial Review :: "free Me" was Co-written by Mike Peden and Shows a Natural Progression from Bunton's Previous Musical Output with the Single Displaying a Sensous, Cosmopolitan and Classic Feel Showing a Singer who Has Clearly Developed Personally, Lyrically and Musically. Fans Will Be Stunned by the Cover Art, with Bunton Looking Quite Sleek and Sophisticated, Light Years Beyond the "Baby Spice" Image. Includes the Exclusive Track, "Who the Hell Are You", Along with the Enhanced Video.
