First came the emancipation, then came energy and power, and now come Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, the new album by international superstar Mariah Carey, scheduled to arrive on September 29th. The first new single pick from Memoirs is "Obsessed,". The video for "Obsessed" is directed by Brett Ratner. "Obsessed" was written and produced by Mariah, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, who are responsible for the majority of tracks on the new album. Memoirs was executive-produced by Antonio "L.A." Reid. Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, the 12th studio album of Mariah's career, is the eagerly anticipated follow-up to her RIAA platinum-selling album E=MC² (released April 15, 2008), and her worldwide 10 million selling The Emancipation Of Mimi (released April 12, 2005). Both were Soundscan #1 debut albums that made chart history for Mariah in the U.S. and numerous territories around the globe.
The Emancipation Of Mimi generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), two #1 singles, and countless more honors during its 18-month chart stay. The album debuted at #1 on first week sales of 404,000 copies, Mariah's highest first week sales total (until E=MC²;). Soundscan's biggest-selling album of 2005, Mimi featured "We Belong Together" (Grammy winner for Best Female R&B Vocal and Best R&B Song) and "Don't Forget About Us," Mariah's 16th and 17th #1 career singles respectively. They tied one of the most enduring chart records in Billboard Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley's 17 #1's.
Three years later, E=MC²; debuted at #1 on first week sales of 463,000 copies, which now stands as the highest first week sales total of Mariah's career. The album's success brought total sales of Mariah's albums, singles and videos to more than 160 million worldwide, distancing her even further from the pack as the top-selling female recording artist in history.
E=MC² spun off four singles: "Touch My Body," "Bye Bye," "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time," and "I Stay In Love." Of these, "Touch My Body" made history when it became Mariah's 18th #1 Hot 100 hit, thus surpassing Elvis Presley. "Touch My Body"'s two weeks at the top also marked Mariah's 78th and 79th cumulative career weeks at #1, which tied Elvis' long-standing all-time high of 79 weeks at #1, as calculated in Billboard.com. At the same time, Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 50 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits.

# 1's
Editorial Review :: Mariah Carey's #1's is as much a time capsule of '90s pop and R&B as a record of one woman's chart toppers: the disc chronicles a shift from the sweet, nearly '50s-style "Vision of Love" to more recent hip-hop-lite grooves featuring heavy input from Puffy Combs ("Honey"), Jermaine Dupri ("Sweetheart"), and O.D.B. ("Fantasy"). Some hit, some miss, but all feature the fluttery swoops that Carey substitutes for expression of feeling. Depth is beside the point, but few of these tracks are even fun. Still, after eight years, there seems to be no stopping her, and this album will hardly break her streak of successes. --Rickey Wright

Obsessed
So she went with "Obsessed" her first single off of the then anticipated follow up to "E=MC2", "Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel".
It's an upbeat song about dissing someone who dissed her husband, her relationship and is "obsessed" with her for some odd reason.
"See right through you like you're bathing in windex" is one of the many insults she puts inside the song.
At first I wasn't sure about the song and didn't think much of it but it grew on me almost immensely and now I really do like it.
And thank goodness it wasn't played out nearly as much as a Beyonce song or a Lil' Wayne song!
Written by Mariah Carey, The-Dream and Christopher "Tricky" Stewart.
4 stars.

Merry Christmas
1. Silent Night (5/5)- beautiful
2. All I Want For Christmas Is You (5/5)-I always hear this song around Christmas time and I never get tired of hearing it. It's her best. There is "someone" out there that I want for Christmas so I can relate to this.
3. O Holy Night (5/5)-you can just feel the anointing in her voice. not many people can manage to pull of this song.
4. Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home) (4/5)-this song is okay.
5. Miss You Most (At Christmas Time) (5/5)- awww...this song makes me so sad.
6. Joy To World (5/5)- I like how Mariah switch it up a lil bit and turned it into a fun, dance song because that's what the holidays are about..having fun. There was this guy on youtube who had his own version of this song. It was sooo hilarious. He even attempted to do the whistle register at the end. Reading people's comments made me laugh even more harder!
7. Jesus Born On This Day (5/5)- hearing the background music and the children's singing can be so heartwarming and personal. I love this song.
8. Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town (4.5/5)- it's a cutesy kind of song
9. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing/Gloria in Excelsis Duo (5/5)-this song is one my favorite christmas song. it takes me back to the christmas shows i had done at school. it's so lively. it really gets you into the spirit
10. Jesus Oh What A Wonderful Child (5/5)- it's a traditional gospel song which I grew up hearing. it just that kind of songs that fill you up.
