Rude Boy [Explicit]
But when the video comes on, you are hypnotized. Rihanna is in so many different outfits and the video itself is so colorful, and she's in these naughty poses once in a while, you can't seem to look away.
She does some naughty things in the video too. Like checking this boy's penis size in his pants.
I don't know why but songs like this are a pass for me. Just don't expect to be blown away, lyrically.
3.75 stars or a 7.5/10.

Editorial Review :: The wait is ova - for one of the most hotly anticipated new albums in recent history, as multi-platinum, award-winning Def Jam recording artist Rihanna announces the completion of her fourth original studio album, Rated R, scheduled to arrive in the physical and digital marketplace on Monday, November 23rd.The "Russian Roulette" video, directed by Anthony Mandler, will premiere in prime-time on ABC.
"Russian Roulette" was written and produced by fellow Def Jam artist Ne-Yo, whose long track record with Rihanna includes the #1 hit "Unfaithful" (2006, from A Girl Like Me), their Top 10 duet "Hate That I Love You" (2007, from Good Girl Gone Bad), and #1 pop/ #1 R&B "Take A Bow" (2008, from Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded). In addition to Ne-Yo, other producers and writers on Rihanna's new album include the team of The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, Chase & Status, Stargate, Justin Timberlake and more.
Rated R is the long-awaited follow-up to Good Girl Gone Bad (May 2007), which contained the non-stop string of hit singles that began with the MTV VMA and Grammy Award-winning global #1 hit "Umbrella" (featuring Jay-Z), then "Shut Up and Drive," "Hate That I Love You" (featuring Ne-Yo), and "Don't Stop the Music." Good Girl Gone Bad spent 98 total weeks on the Soundscan chart, earned cumulative sales of more than 36-times platinum in at least 20 territories around the world, and spun off the CD+DVD package Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded (January 2009) - which continued the string of hits with the #1 "Take A Bow," and the #1 "Disturbia."
Good Girl Gone Bad was the third album release in less than two years by the 21-year old Barbados native Rihanna. It followed-up 2006's RIAA platinum A Girl Like Me, which contained the back-to-back hits, "S.O.S." and "Unfaithful"; and her RIAA gold debut from 2005, Music Of the Sun, featuring the world-wide smash, "Pon De Replay."

Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded
Editorial Review :: In one of the biggest jumps ever recorded in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Rihanna's newest single "Take A Bow" rockets from #53 to #1 this week. "Take A Bow" also debuts at #1-bullet on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs Chart with a phenomenal first week of 266,696 scans. The song was written by fellow Def Jam artist Ne-Yo and produced by Stargate, the same team responsible for Rihanna's "Unfaithful" (of 2006), and "Hate That I Love You," her Top 10 duet with Ne-Yo released late last year. "Take A Bow" raises the curtain on the upcoming new CD U.S.release of Rihanna's GOOD GIRL GONE BAD: RELOADED. The new configuration arrives in stores on June 17th - the week after the album officially marks its historic 52nd week on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
The original 12-song CD version of GOOD GIRL GONE BAD - source of the non-stop string of hit singles that began with the MTV VMA and Grammy Award-winning global #1 hit "Umbrella" (featuring Jay-Z), then "Shut Up and Drive," "Hate That I Love You" (featuring Ne-Yo), and the current "Don't Stop the Music" - will now be augmented with three bonus tracks: 1) "Take A Bow"; 2) a cover version of Maroon 5's "If I Never See Your Face Again" (featuring Maroon 5); and 3) "Disturbia."
GOOD GIRL GONE BAD (released June 5, 2007) was the third album release in less than two years by multi-platinum MTV VMA, Grammy, and American Music Award winning artist - and CoverGirl spokesperson - Rihanna. It followed-up 2006's RIAA platinum A Girl Like Me, containing the back-to-back hits, "S.O.S." and "Unfaithful"; and her RIAA gold debut from 2005, Music Of the Sun, featuring the worldwide smash, "Pon De Replay."

Like most people I was horrified by her beating and hoped that she could move past it; not to produce music but just to find some inner peace & balance. If she had co-written more of the tracks I probably would've viewed the project as more of an exorcism of the past but still I think she & the writers collaborated well to present a collection of really good to not so good tracks.
My faves: MAD HOUSE is a really good if eerie opener. It tells listeners we are in store for something scary and not to proceed if we can't handle it.
WAIT YOUR TURN - is a synthy kind of dark sounding track. Rihanna sounds great as her accent is more pronounced on this mash up of pop/reggae
HARD - I really like this track, it's got a great beat and sassy lyrics featuring an assist from Jeezy (who I was unfamiliar with)
RUSSIAN ROULETTE - risky choice for a lead single but I really love this song. I fully understood the song as a metaphor for falling in love BUT the video was a little too literal & disturbing to watch
RUDE BOY - complete guilty pleasure song, fun beat with somewhat naughty lyrics
STUPID IN LOVE - another ballad where Rihanna sounds really good; this track seems to touch on her relationship with Chris Brown and reveals how she feels about the situation
ROCKSTAR 101 - another fun pop song with a rock edge
I think TE AMO, FIREBOMB, COLD CASE LOVE & PHOTOGRAPHS are just "ok". I like the musical arrangement of TE AMO; the lyrics of FIREBOMB but not the arrangement; CCL is too long and gets maudlin at about the halfway point until the song picks up tempo near the end and while I love her singing & the lyrics of PHOTOGRAPHS, Will.I.Am kind of ruins this song for me.
Finally I really hate everything about G4L - I do not buy Rihanna as this hard gangster girl and as many times as I've tried to listen to this track, I just don't like it.
Overall I enjoyed listening to most of this collection but wasn't too surprised to hear that her label is rushing another album out possibly for release at the end of this year. I think that this is a really cohesive album that didn't feature the "fun" or catchy tracks that people have come to expect from Rihanna but does feature a few songs that allowed her to express herself after a harrowing situation.
